Is it fair to say that the study of evolution subscribes to no agenda but the study, whereas creation "science?

Speaking as an agnostic, I find both sides very devoted to their agendas. Academia has an almost militant devotion to proving evolution and disproving creationism. Creationists seem to want to latch onto every tiny scrap of truth, half truth and innuendo then trumpet their view as proven fact. Neither camp seems to be open to a true unbiased interpretation of the data.
